Helen's Amazing Windermere Solo

Writer's picture: rebeccajarrerebeccajarre

This was a very special solo in that Helen wanted to lay some flowers in remeberance of her younger sister Heather who sadly passed away.

The morning started as flat as a pancake with glourious views of the lake.

After her safety briefing she was on her way.

Yatching club team kindly waited for her to pass before they began their race.

We placed Heathers picture and flowers at the front of the boat so Helen could she her every stroke along the way.

It was time for feed and messages of support from home.

Off she went steady and strong.

At the half way mark and still going strong.

With the halfway mark done and feeding the fish too, she was followed by Heather's memories to keep her going all the way through.

Boat traffic started to get busier and busier.

It was time to lay Heathers flowers at Helens private place.

Not far from the end Helen go go go

In come the chop choppy waves to make the end more exciting.

What an amazing way to end an awsome swim. To be greated and supported from several of Helens friends.
